Get Out There!:Two Contests

They say entering writing contests is a great way to get out there and build name recognition is. Another wonderful benefit of the internet is the proliferation of website writing contests. Used to be you joined a writing group, found a contest, paid a fee and waited for a sheet of vague notes and checkmarks in hopes of improving your writing and catching some attention.

This week I found two FREE writing contests and entered them. The first, “Why I Write” essay contest is hosted by Editor Unleashed in the forum, in partnership with Smashwords. The second is “The Final Save the Cat! Logline Challenge of 2009!” contest at Blake Snyder’s blog. Both already sport a riot of entries worth the read.

Please check my entries out. For Editor Unleashed, I wrote “For The Marginally Insane” and for Blake Snyder’s I submitted “Dirty Prancing” and “Deuce Bigelow: Elf Gigolo”.

I promise they’ll make you laugh!
